Introduction
This visa has taken the place of the Youth Mobility Program visa (T5).
For young individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who desire to work, live, and travel in
the UK, there is a scheme called the Youth Mobility Programme. You don't need to be
sponsored, have a job, or satisfy any income or skill requirements to participate in this
programme.
For whom is the Youth Mobility Scheme appropriate?
Applying for a Youth Mobility Scheme visa is possible if :
Eligibility Requirements
- You must have an invitation to apply for the Youth Mobility Scheme if you are an Indian national.
- Apply within the time frame mentioned in the invitation.
- Provide the unique application number for that invitation to apply.
- Submit a police certificate that was granted no more than six months prior to your application.
How To Apply
If you’re eligible, enter the Young Professionals Scheme ballot.
If you wish to apply for a visa under the India Young Professionals Program, you must join the poll.
The next ballot will be held on 28 February 2023 at 2:30pm India Standard Time and will end on 2 March at 2:30pm India Standard Time.
Entering the Ballot
You must enter the ballot online. You will need to provide your
- name
- date of birth
- passport details
- a scan or photo of your passport
- phone number
- email address
The winning entries will be chosen at random. The results will be emailed to you within two weeks of the ballot closure.
Entering the ballot is completely free. Only enter if you intend to apply for a visa, which costs £259, and can fulfil the financial, educational, and other conditions.
Unsuccessful Entries
- The ballot results are final. If you are unsuccessful, you cannot file an appeal.
- If you are unsuccessful, you may try again in the future. The next ballot is scheduled for late July. Information will be released on this website as the date approaches.
- If you do not enter in the February ballot, you may enter in future ballots provided you satisfy the conditions
Entries that will be Successful
- In the February ballot, there are 2,400 visas available.
- If you win the lottery, you will be asked to apply for a visa.
- You will have 30 days from the date of the email to submit an online application, pay the visa application fee, and pay the immigration health surcharge.
- You are not required to tell us if you are victorious in the poll but opt not to apply for the visa.
Mandatory Documents
You must submit the following when you apply:
- A current passport or other proof proving your identity and nationality
- A bank statement demonstrating at least £2,530 in savings
- Your tuberculosis (TB) test results if you live in India
- A blank page in your passport is required for your visa.
- Any documents that are not in English or Welsh will require a certified translation.
- Evidence of your qualifications:Your institution or university must offer official evidence that you have finished your studies and graduated with the relevant certification.
- A police report or clearance certificate from India - check how to apply for criminal records checks
- Depending on your circumstances, you may be required to produce extra documentation. If further proof is required, the Home Office will contact you.
When to Apply?
If you are selected in the ballot, you must apply for your visa by the time specified in your invitation to apply. This is typically 30 days after receiving the invitation.
You must visit the United Kingdom within 6 months after filing for your visa.
How Long it takes?
When you've applied online, shown your identity, and submitted your documents, you should receive a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.
How much does it cost?
You must do the following:
- pay the £259 application fee
- pay a £940 healthcare fee
- show that you have £2,530 in personal savings
How Long can you stay?
- You will be granted a visa to live and work in the United Kingdom for up to 24 months.
- You can enter the UK at any time while your visa is valid, and you can leave and return whenever you like throughout your stay.
- If you turn 31 after your visa is obtained, you can stay in the UK for the duration of your visa.
